How It Works
Fit, Form, and Finish — All at Home
01
Take Your Impression
To begin, you’ll create an impression of your bite using the provided impression putty. This step gives you full control over the fit of your guard, allowing you to capture the exact shape of your teeth. Unlike boil-and-bite guards, this is the foundation for achieving a well-fitted, secure night guard.
02
Create Your Cast
Once you have your impression, the next step is to form a cast using the stone powder. This creates an accurate 3D model of your teeth, ensuring a more customized fit compared to boil-and-bite options.
03
Heat the Guard Sheets
Next, you’ll heat the provided guard sheets using a household oven or other heating device. We supply special clips to make the heating process quick and easy.
04
Vacuum Forming the Guard
Using the vacuum-forming machine and a household vacuum, you’ll apply the softened sheet to your teeth model to create the night guard. The vacuum ensures a snug, custom fit that molds precisely to your teeth without the discomfort or bulkiness of boil-and-bite guards, which often don’t fit properly.
05
Trim and Smooth the Guard
After the guard has cooled, it’s time to trim and smooth the edges. This step ensures your night guard is comfortable and ready for use. At this point, you’ll have a custom, comfortable fit. Unlike mail-in services or dentist-made options that require long waiting times, you can make your guard at home, whenever it suits your schedule.
06
Recreate as Needed
If your night guards become dirty or damaged, or if you’re undergoing orthodontic treatment while also experiencing teeth grinding, requiring frequent replacements, Nyxweive lets you easily create new custom guards without the worry of high costs or long waits. The more you create, the better you get at it, and the faster and more comfortable your fit will be. Plus, you’ll save money with each new guard.
